MSSC Volunteer Program

MSSC Volunteer Policy

MSSC relies on multiple volunteers to keep costs low.

This spring, the MSSC BOD has moved to change how volunteer hours will be credited. Going forward, we will be adding the volunteer fee into the player season payment. Once the families have completed their 2 hours of volunteer time, they will be credited the $50 and receive a check from the club at the end of the seasonParents should email the club at mssc.volunteercoordinator@gmail.com with the completed volunteer hours, including a description of their work and time/date. We will also be asking for them to cc the manager of their team on the email. A list of pre-approved activities that count towards volunteer hours is below. If a parent wishes to do something outside of this list, it must be something that directly benefits the club and also be pre-approved by the MSSC BOD. The parent may email the mssc.volunteercoordinator@gmail.com for pre-approval.

Pre-approved activities:

Field cleaning and prep - putting up snow fence, goal nets and initial field lining

Field lining during season

Assisting with tryouts- handing out numbers, directing players where to go

Picking up and delivering uniforms to players

Picking up and delivering equipment to coaches

Coordinating and being the contact for hotel blocks for tournaments

Organizing team participating during parades- contacting the school, arranging a trailer and truck, arranging chaperones for the parade

Chaperoning parade = 1 credit hour

Organizing teams on picture day- communicating time/location/uniform color/distributing order form
