We are sad to announce that the MSSC BOD has decided to cancel the spring 2020 season based on the suspension of play through at least May 31st, as well as the cancellation of league play by CIYSL moving into the summer months. Although we were hoping to salvage part of a spring season, safety is at the forefront of our thoughts during this unprecedented time.
We will be sending out refunds to players beginning next week. Further information regarding refunds were sent out to parents this morning through Sports Engine.
Tryouts for the fall season will be held tentatively in July.
Please take care and be safe!
Please see the below update from IYSA. The BOD continues to actively meet and seek information from IYSA and CIYSL regarding how this will impact the remainder of the season, and we will share any information as soon as it becomes available. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time. Stay safe!
The MSSC Board of Directors would like to thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of uncertainty. We are continuing to meet regularly and are committed to keeping you all updated with the best information we have to share regarding the spring soccer season and the impact COVID-19 will have on it. The statement below has been sent by CIYSL with regards to our league games this Spring. We are also monitoring the situation regarding training and tournaments this season, and will work hard to keep you informed of the updates and changes in the upcoming days.
Please be advised that as of 3/12/2020 US Soccer, United States Youth Soccer, and Illinois Youth Soccer Association have suspended all activities through April 15, 2020. Coaching, and referee courses are suspended until April 30.
Since there is no liability insurance coverage for a COVID-19 exposure / infection, CIYSL will also follow this postponement timeline, which will include games and training sessions.
No games are to be played until the April 19th weekend. If that date would change we will get info out to all clubs and teams. This mandate is for any open division teams as well. Looking at rescheduling options for the lost weekends and that will be communicated to all our teams at a later date.
Be assured that we will update you with further information as soon as it becomes available. Once we have more information, we will be able to assess any potential refunds for cancelled tournaments/games that are not able to be made up. In the meantime, please continue to do what you can to protect yourself, your family, and our community during this time.
Based on the recent suspensions by US Soccer Federation, US Youth Soccer, and Illinois Youth Soccer Association, all Mahomet Seymour Soccer Club activities are suspended until further notice. This includes all training sessions, league matches, and friendly matches. Cancellations or postponements of tournaments will be evaluated by the host of each tournament, and MSSC will pass along any relevant tournament information to teams as information is available.
The MSSC BOD will continue to evaluate the situation and post updates to our Facebook page and website. MSSC is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our soccer community as well as the community at-large, and so we appreciate your understanding as we all navigate the current situation.
Please send any financial or reimbursement requests or questions to the following email address: MSSC.email@example.com

Missed our fall order?
You can head to Winderson's Creations in downtown Mahomet to order/purchase one.
Thanks to Amy Bergman for coordinating the fall order!
MSSC relies on multiple volunteers to keep costs low. Families of each player (including practice players) will be expected to volunteer for a total of two hours per season played to help with various tasks (field lining, mowing, community service events, check-in at tryouts, spring pictures, etc). Those choosing to not volunteer can pay a $50 additional fee at time of payment. Volunteer hours will be tracked, and a $25 fee per hour not completed will be assigned after the season if hours are not fulfilled and the $50 fee was not paid at the start of the season.
Academy Players are not included in the Volunteer Policy.
See our volunteer page for specific volunteer opportunities.
Have your kids outgrown their cleats? MSSC will be collecting gently used cleats this fall and winter. Cleats will be cleaned up and then ready for purchase in the spring (date TBA) at a discount MSSC cleat sale with all proceeds benefiting the club. If you have any cleats to donate, please contact Katie Davis at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a drop off time.
